The problem of creating Acrobat incompatible PDFs, when converting really big images, is already fixed in the PDF Explorer PDF Creator tool since the build 59 patch 1 went online.
I have not released yet a new PDF-ShellTools version, so, yes, you can't use the fix to do the batch conversion you need. But you have the conversions already done, so not really a problem anymore
But take a look to the file size of these PDFs produced with the, Open Office based, 7-pdf tool. Much bigger files than the original tif image (at least with the sample image you have sent to me). That occur because the tool is transcoding the image compression format to a less performant than the used in the original image.
