This happens at least half the time when I am using the shell tools. Whenever I open a folder with a significant number of PDFs in it, the loading bar in the folder (windows 10) takes a very long time to finish, and all of the icons on the desktop start flickering as though they were being clicked on. This keeps happening unless I refresh the screen, or go into the task manager and terminate explorer and restart it.

This is more of an annoyance than a serious problem (refreshing the screen only takes two mouse clicks after all) but as annoyances go, this is a serious one.

Any help?

What list view mode (extra/large icons, details, ...) are you using in the File Explorer?
If details, are there any specific PDF metadata column showing? Is that folder indexed by the Windows Search functionality (you can check it easily with the PDF-ShellTools Windows Search Explorer)?
