Title: CHM and Info Edit tool question
Post by: Padanges on August 23, 2016, 01:34:29 PM
Hi,
does *.CHM file format has full metadata support? It seems that while having one CHM file entry in the ScanGrid you can't even launch Batch Tool "Edit Info fields" (you get the warning that "No checked files" even if you have checked that one). I suppose you should be able to work in a "DB only" ("Edit Info fields" batch tool) mode because it's possible to change it's info fields using "InfoEdit" tool.
Will your update for the file extension support include a possibility to change DB fields using "Edit Info fields" tool?

Regards.

Yes, it has full metadata support, but it is being, erroneously, discarded from selection when running these batch tools that can already use some of the functionality in these non-PDF files too. I discovered this yesterday, when testing with other file types. (http://www.rttsoftware.com/forum/index.php/topic,538.0.html) ;)
For metadata edit tasks it will work the same way as with PDFs, save metadata to DB and to the file itself. For file types without in file metadata edit capabilities, it will revert to DB only.
