Web Interface - Help!
« on: June 17, 2009, 10:59:00 AM »
Hello!

Can anyone please help me configure the web interface? I can access from my own pc but I can't login to see files. I can't also access from any other computer.
Some help with the configs would be appreciated :)

Thanks!

Are you referring to the PDFE Web interface users login feature? If yes, that's a known build 58 bug.
As a workaround:
- You can set up the HTTPS protocol, third tool button of the web interface manager, because, when this access protocol used, PDFE generates addresses correctly.
- Or you can just manually fix the called address. If when you click at the Login link you get, at browser address, something like "http://<YourPCName>/Login", just change it to "http://<YourPCName>/pdfews/Login". Later, for logout, change http://<YourPCName>/Logout", to "http://<YourPCName>/pdfews/Logout".

This can be related to the need to open the TCP/IP port you are using (the one you see in the PDFEWS manager, TCP/IP port item, normally set to 80) for the PDFEWS HTTP service in your firewall and/or the need to set up your router to forward incoming requests, on that port, to the PC where you have PDFEWS running.
Take a look at this address, http://portforward.com/help/pfprogression.htm, if you want to better understand, and learn, how to setup the second need.
