Post by: Client on October 24, 2008, 09:42:36 AM
How can I use "Quick Image OCR to assist the Quick Info Edit mode" in the new release?

Thanks

When we use the Quick Info Edit assistant we copy text to invoke it.
The idea of the Quick Image OCR is to add a solution to when the PDF file, from where we want to extract text information, only have a raster image, as occur with unOCRed scanned/fax PDF documents.
This assistant is invoked taking a snapshot of the text image we want to OCR. To do it, user only need to use the reader image snapshot tool.

In the above image, Foxit Reader, with the snapshot tool button signaled.
If you are using Acrobat, or Acrobat reader, you probably need to add that button to the toolbar. This button is not present there by default.

Tip: For better OCR results, snapshot must be done with reader with higher magnification because final snapshot image resolution is directly related to that magnification. Or change to the PDFE Images view from where we can capture full image resolution selected snapshots.
